"Counselling at St Helier Hospital"

About: Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust

I received counselling at St Helier after I had a recent stillbirth at Epsom Hospital. I saw the midwifery counsellor there. I was in a room that was not near the maternity unit which helped at my present situation. She offered me help, empathy and support and answered all the many, many questions I had which helped me to grieve and start putting myself slowly back together. The counselling also helped me in the lead up to my baby's funeral. I was also offered support for future pregnancies which will be a great support when the time comes. I left with my last session with more of an understanding and acceptance of what had happened. Would recommend the member of staff to anyone in the same situation or similar as she helped me emotionally. It also helped talking to someone that wasn't family or a friend for various reasons.
