"Excellent Care"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

(as the patient),

I recently had an operation at the WHH and was placed in the HDU for four days before going onto one of the King's Surgical wards.

I received excellent care in both the HDU and the King's ward.  The staff were professional, caring and kind.

My only criticism is that the discharge process was very slow.  I had to wait on the ward for over an hour as the ward staff were waiting for a pharmacist to return to the ward. When I eventually received my medications, I was told I had to go and sit in the Discharge Lounge while one extra medication was being prepared.  We spent a further hour in there waiting before we could leave.

Thank you very much for letting us know about the excellent care you received, we will make sure the staff received your comments.

We have been doing some work around the discharge of patients, so your feedback will be very useful.

Many thanks.
