"I felt actively listened to"

About: City Health Care Partnership CIC / Sexual health

(as the patient),

I went to the family planning/sexual health clinic earlier this week to enquire into having an IUD fitted as I have dysmenorrhea.

I was impressed at the high level of communication and the exchange of information between different health care staff and between myself and health care staff. I felt like I was actively listened to and that everyone (from the reception, to the nurses, to the doctors) cared right from the off.

They helped me evaluate whether an IUD was best for me and the staff were fantastic throughout the entire process.

The clinic itself was a warm, inviting and non-judgemental environment.

Many thanks for your comments detailing your feelings/experience after visiting one of our sexual health clinics. We value your feedback and will pass your comments on to our staff who work hard to try to make any patient experience a positive one.

It was encouraging to note that you found both the staff and the clinic environment warm and inviting. Our main sexual health clinic currently held at Conifer House (HU2 8PX) is moving in November/December 2011 to the brand new purpose built Wilberforce Health Centre on Story Street in Hull (HU1 3TE). The Wilberforce Health Centre will be just a 5 minute walk from Conifer House and we hope that the new building will further enhance the environment for our service users. For further details of our new location see www.luvhull.co.uk / www.luveyorks.co.uk
