my elderly relative aged 80 was recently admitted into Purley 1, Bay 3 after becoming severely ill with several gallstones and acute pancreatitis. Whilst visiting my relative I found myself doing all the actual care for her due to the nursing staff being nowhere to be seen. When on the odd occasion a nurse, HCA was found they were very unhelpful and didn't attend to the patient who was vomiting during supper time infront of the other patients whilst they were trying to eat their supper.
When the Sister was approached at the nurses desk she didn't even look up and there was no eye contact.
The way she spoke was very rude and unwelcoming. One HCA was very rude and argumentative in front of the patient and another relative of mine.
I am shocked and disgusted at the level of care from this ward and whilst my relative is still in there I shall be closely monitoring all aspects of care until she receives the level of care that she deserves
