"Shocking care"

Absolutely disgusted at this hospital compared to seven years ago. My father-in-law was a patient 7 years ago and his treatment in ICU and the wards was first class. However, this time around there was a 100% turnaround. The ward was dirty, communication with relatives was non-existent. On discharge my father-in-law was transferred to a care home and was in a dishevelled and untidy state after his two month stay in Barnet. He has grown a beard as he was unable to shave and nobody would help him, the rear of his head where pillow contact was made left his hair matted and now has to be shaved off and his nails (both fingers and toes) are so long that the care home are having to call in specialists to treat them. This hospital managed to strip him of his dignity and self worth. Absolutely disgraceful!!

Surprisingly, the QCC report scored them good in all five descriptors, however, the inspection was carried out over 3 days early Feb 2016. This hospital should be placed under special measures by the QCC.
