"my grandmothers stay"

(as a relative),

My grandmother was admitted following a query stroke and was admitted to ward 17. From the start of her stay I felt the ward staff we saw were uncooperative and very unhelpful.

When my father asked how his mother was doing a nurse replied 'you tell me' and then walked away. I feel this is a disgraceful response.

I used to go and visit her every day 3pm until 7pm and often found her table at the end of her bed with a cold cup of tea on it. My grandmother has very bad Alzheimers and is unable to do anything for herself and needs full assistance.

I also went in to visit one day and her lunch was sitting on her table at 3pm. When questioned I was told that the staff did not have time to feed her at lunchtime and someone was on their way to do it straight away. Having worked in the hospital myself i know it can get very busy but i thought this was a shocking and unacceptable response. I told them not to bother with her dinner as it was freezing cold and that i would feed her myself. I found the treatment and care my grandmother received disgusting on this ward.
