"First class job"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

I have recently undergone a total hip replacement under the care of one particular consultant and his team.

The care I received was nothing short of excellent and the hospital should be congratulated and supported in their work.

After surgery they detected a heart problem and I was transferred to a cardiac ward and eventually to Exeter for a pacemaker.

Throughout all, I received the very best of care and attention and am sincerely grateful.

Dear Patient

Thank you for sharing your story and I am pleased that you received excellent care and attention throughout your pathway.

It is good to know that your total hip replacement was a success and that your heart problem was detected following surgery. I am pleased you were transferred to a cardiac ward and then to Exeter for a pacemaker.

This must have been an extremely anxious and upsetting time for you; however it is reassuring to know that you were treated in a timely way.

I have forwarded on your kind comments to the Service Managers for Orthopaedics and Cardiology where they will be appreciated and shared with staff.

Kind regards

Jayne
