I want to praise the care I had from Freeman hospital. I have never been in hospital before apart from when I had my 2 daughters. I am 64 years old and was recently diagnosed with cancer of the jawbone, a total shock but everything happened that quickly and I was operated on by a wonderful team who explained all in detail as to how this could be fixed. I found the consultants to be so down to earth and both put me at ease which was good as it was a little scary. After op I then went to HDU where the service was second to none and the nurses were just so caring and too excellent care of me. After 2 days I was moved to ward 10 and was in my own little room. Every nurse that looked after me was wonderful and helped me so much, nothing was a bother to them and they encouraged you all the way. I actually felt so much better with their attitude and the support they gave you and you could see that they wanted to help you and had a genuine love for the role they did. I have heard so many bad things about the NHS and had nothing to compare it to so believed these horror stories. However no one will ever say anything bad to me about the NHS as I now realise they do a fantastic job with little pay and little reward from the public. I wish I could name the people on here who looked after me but there are too many to mention. There is no words I can use to say thanks to everyone, but at least I can leave good feedback. Thank you Christine Joice
