Yesterday morning (Tuesday 17th April) I had a tooth extracted in the Department of Oral Surgery. I wish to state that the care was exemplary. The hospital Meet & Greet volunteers were helpful. The department receptionist was cordial. The dentist who carried out the operation first explained the procedure clearly & briefly (and clarified a preparatory point before proceeding). During the operation she helpfully let me know what was about to happen at each stage. The dental assistant checked from time to time that I was alright. They recommended how I should breathe (to reduce anxiety). At one point, the dental assistant told me about how many more minutes there was to go (most useful)! All in all, thank goodness for this excellent service in the NHS.
