About: St Thomas' Hospital (London)

What I liked

I gave birth to my twin boys at the end of April 2011. I couldn't have had a better experience. the staff both at the Hospital Birth Centre and in the Maternity Ward were highly professional, as well as kind and caring.

During labour we had a midwife with us all the time, checking the monitors and making sure that I was coping well and explaining what was going on. The doctors who saw me during that day were clear and reassuring. I ended up having an emergency c-section, which went very smoothly.

In the maternity ward all midwives and support staff always took the time to stop and answer questions, despite being clearly overworked.

We were only discharged when they were sure that both babies were ready to go home - I was really looking forward to going home, but I did appreciate that they were putting the boys' welfare first, which, particularly at these times, is quite admirable.

What could be improved

Nothing really. Perhaps increasing the staff number so as to allow them to go for lunch at normal hours, and not at 5PM as I saw them doing?

Anything else?

Keep up the good work!
