"Bump to Babies group"

About: Abbey and Lady Bay Children's Centre

(as a service user),

I felt sad yesterday to be attending the last bump to baby group in Radcliffe on Trent.

The group is finishing due to budget cuts. Whilst I understand Sure Start are setting up a 0-5 group in the library it's a shame the baby focussed group is ending as its a valuable service.

I understand Surestart may explore other options and I would encourage this. I also feel better marketing of the groups and closer promotion of it with health visitors will ensure its popularity and longevity.

Dear Babyfan

I am the General Manager for this area.

Thank you for letting us have your feedback. Please be assured this decision wasn't taken lightly and I appreciate the impact it has on you and the other attendees.. Children centres have always had to review their services to ensure they are supporting parents effectively and efficently. Sometimes this means stopping a service or starting new ones. I agree with your point about improving popularity of groups by working closely with the Healthy Family Teams. This is something the coordinator and Service Manager (who manages both Children Centres and Healthy Family Teams in Rushcliffe) will be working on further over the coming months.

I hope you will be able to attend the under 5s group as the alternative for now and as you say the service will continue to explore other options for your local area.

Best Wishes

Karon
