"I had the most amazing experience"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care (Wards 21-24)

(as a service user),

I delivered our son recently at Wishaw Maternity and can’t praise the staff enough. First of all, I want to say a massive thank you to Julie who was our dedicated midwife. The support, advice and encouragement you provided throughout was outstanding. You are amazing.

As with Julie, nothing was too much trouble for any other staff member we dealt with. This also applies to when I was admitted during my pregnancy.

My husband and I would also like to say another special thank you to the doctor who assisted at the end of my Labour however due to all the excitement we are not sure that we have have remembered her name correctly. We both thought Gillian so if this is wrong I am truly sorry, however I will never forget the help she also provided.

I never would have believed it was possible to laugh and joke so close to giving birth. Despite the obvious pain etc I had the most amazing experience.

Thank You.

Hi E-J

Thank you for taking the time to write on Care Opinion. I am sure your time is limited at the moment with a new baby, so this is really appreciated.

I am really glad that you had an amazing experience and the staff will be delighted to know that they have made your birth experience a positive one.

I hope all is going well with your new son. Again thank you for taking the time to write, it really does mean a lot to all of us here in the maternity unit at University Hospital Wishaw.

Best Wishes

Amanda
