"A call from an anaesthetist."

About: Ipswich Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

I had a call from an anaesthetist asking me questions regarding my breathing, this came as a surprise as I had been for my pre assessment a few days earlier, at the end of this conversation they then added, I think I can get you through this, this left me feeling very upset & unsure about having my operation. Especially as it was Friday the 13th.

I live with a chronic nasal polyp condition & have had 2 other ops that doesn't last long I may add. I think this was a very unprofessional thing to do.

Update posted by Dillybob (the patient)

Thanks for taking the time to read my message.

Its a very emotional time for me & equally concerning, as I've lost a sister & brother with heart & lung disease.

So my forthcoming operation doesn't go without worries.

Kind regards.
