"Many thanks for the excellent care afforded me..."

About: Scunthorpe General Hospital

Having been referred to A&E by my GP, on arrival I was seen quite quickly by the triage nurse. After being examined in A&E within 3hrs I was transferred to CDU ward. All the time I was being assured by the staff dealing with me.

After 24hrs in CDU and the excellent treatment by the staff I was transferred to Ward 23. This ward I cannot speak highly enough of, the care of all the staff from those in charge to the person bringing the tea, everyone was geared up to making my stay stress free and comfortable. The admiration I have for the people on this ward is very difficult to put into words. They have a lot of patients in their charge and they treat each one with a smile on their face. The teamwork is top notch and it has to be because some are working 13hr shifts.

You can tell how the ward works by the happiness shown on the faces of the patients within the ward. Everyone got on well and even though most are in pain and going through great ordeals we all managed to have a laugh and joke. This in itself has got to be testament to the care given by the staff. ANGELS is an understatement !!

Having been discharged I felt it my duty to give a good review about Scunthorpe Hospital, after all some people are quick to give bad comments and lets be fair the hospital has not had a great press of late.

Thank you staff of the three departments mentioned in this review. Be proud of yourselves. A very grateful ex-patient.,
