"Absolutely appalling"

About: Great Barford Surgery

It has taken too many trips to the surgery to sort a simple appointment and gain medication that I am seeking to register elsewhere.

The GP failing to listen and being totally disinterested in the consultation was the start of the totally useless experience of the surgery. Prescribing the wrong form of medication was slightly forgivable but the prescribing of a drug which is out of stock nationally, then issuing a new prescription of an alternative drug at a dose recommended for an adolescent has topped it off.

This surgery is not fit for its purpose.

Many of the large chemists have stock which can carry them over a temporary shortage in supply of medication hence the supply of a printed prescription in the first instance.

You mention the wrong form of medication -is this a difference between tablets/capsules/liquid dose?

On occasion we are able to get capsules when tablets are unavailable or vice versa. Once it becomes apparent that the shortage of medication is a long term or national problem and supplies have diminished across the country we would try and find an alternative -without knowing details of the alternative medication supplied I am unable to comment further.
