What I liked
I was in Rowan ward on the 3rd August for a Gynaecology operation. I was very apprehensive about coming in due to adverse reports etc that Whipps X seems to get. I was pleasantly surprised and very happy with the treatment I got there. The nursing staff were excellent very professional and seemed a happy crowd . I would recommend this department to anyone.
What could be improved
I received a follow up letter today to see the consultant in 3 months after my op last week but the appointment came in the middle of a 2 week holiday I had booked for October. I subsequently phoned the usual hospital number and then extension to change this appointment, I spoke to the rudest man. He certainly should have been put on a course on how to speak politely to the public and even suggested that I was out of order going on holiday as my follow up appointment was very important. I told him that I was not cancelling a very expensive holiday to India when a week earlier and later would not make much difference. I realised afterwards I should have asked his name, but I unfortunately never thought of it at the time. I did get my appointment changed but front line staff should be pleasant and friendly as this does not create a good impression.
"Whipps X Cross much better that I anticipated"
