"Sent by gp to ward 15 assessment unit to see a dr"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

Out GP sent my son to ward 15 assessment unit to be seen by a dr. We arrived at 7pm at 2am he still hadn’t seen a Dr and was told they would keep him in but they had no beds so they had to put a bed in a treatment room. We would have been better of going through A and E at least he would have seen a Dr

Dear Parent

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on this website.

I was sorry to read that after your son was sent to ward 15 from the GP, he did not see a doctor and had to be kept in a treatment room due to shortage of beds.

We would like to understand more about these issues so that we can try and learn from your experience of our services.

If you are happy to share more detail about your specific experience with us, please contact our dedicated Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01296 316042 or email pals@buckshealthcare.nhs.uk.

Kind regards
