What I liked
I recently gave birth to my little boy at Dewsbury delivery suite and whilst I was fortunate to have a fairly straightforward delivery I must still praise the excellent standard of midwifery care I recieved. I can not fault the staff on the delivery suite nor the facilities. They were efficient, dedicated and extremely caring at all times, not just to me as a patient but also to my family. I would absolutely recommend them and can not thank them enough for their care.
What could be improved
I did have to spend a brief period on the maternity/recovery ward, luckily not overnight as I found it hot, noisy and quite an intimidating place to be having just given birth. It has to be said though that this wasn't down to the staff at all but some other patients who ignored rules on visitor numbers, ignored other patient's need for privacy and allowed badly behaved older children to run riot. Staff did enforce the rules when they could but ultimately they are there to provide medical care not supervise rude and inconsiderate people.
Food awful but that appears to be the norm' unfortunately in any NHS hos[ital.
"Delivery suite/midwives excellent"
