About: St Thomas' Hospital / General surgery

my partner arrived at surgical admissions on 11/4/2018 at7;00am nurse got her ready for surgery for 9am then was told it would be12.30pm as there was a emergency which is fair enough i rang to ask how it was going at 1.30 and was told not sure what was happening she was then told it would be 3.30 in the mean time i made several calls before they put me through to the nurse who was in charge she told me it would now be 5.30 before they decide to operate i spoke to my partner on phone she was very distressed and crying and wanted to come home at 6.30 they said they would operate and keep her in overnight by this time she was so upset as she had not eaten for 24 hours and had been in surgical stockings since 8am as she had all the tests to see if she was fit as she is 66 and not in the greatest of health my partner decided to come home and have the op another day why they let her wait all that time and not send home earlier seeing she was upset was a total lack of respect when i rang numerous times there was a total lack of communication very poor service my partners name is kathleen
