"Praise for the staff of High Observation unit..."

About: Scunthorpe General Hospital / General surgery

I was admitted to ward 28 on March 5th 2018 for abdominal surgery. Firstly I want to say that the professionalism and care I received from my surgeon and her registrar was outstanding. They kept me informed of all the developments and treatments in my care and treated me with dignity and respect at all times. Following surgery I spent time on the High Observation Unit and found the staff dedicated, caring and willing to go the extra mile for all the patients. I then returned to ward 28 and despite being extremely busy all the staff did as much as possible to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I was then moved to ward 19 for one night due to pressure of beds and the staff there were attentive, efficient and professional. Before discharge I spent time in the discharge lounge which is a resource I wasn't p previously aware of but was treated with respect and courtesy. Staff made sure I was given food and drink and that all my discharge papers and medications were in order. So thank to all the staff who looked after me and sorry I can't name some of you individually but you are too many for me to recall.
