In the early hours of Sunday I tripped over my duvet when I got up to go to the loo. I could not get back up again and was on the floor until my carer arrived in the morning and called an ambulance. Although I was insisting I did not need an ambulance I'm now glad my carer called one anyway. She also called my daughter who arrived before the paramedics, she was able to clean up my elbow, where skin had scraped off and was bleeding, but was reluctant to move me in case I had sustained a fracture due to osteoporosis.
The paramedics, Jo and Caroline, were extremely kind. they gave me a thorough check before lifting me up and redressing the injury to my elbow. They complimented my daughter on her first aid and assured my carer she had done the right thing by calling them.
Jo asked me to make sure I called my GP first thing on Monday, when I did I was amazed that they had already received information from the paramedics. They were so efficient.
"Fantastic paramedics"
