"Amount of time it takes to get treated."

About: Kidderminster Treatment Centre - Acute Trust / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

To cut a very long story short and to share my personal experience withing the Worcestershire NHS. I tore my cartilage in my knee over 12 months ago now which has given my great pain every single minute of the day (but more extreme at night when trying to sleep) and to date I'm STILL waiting for an operation date, previous appointment have been cancelled at the last minute which is annoying especially when  didnt get told until I actually turn up at the hospital. I just seem to be getting nowhere fast with the NHS to get this injury fixed, to say its such a minor operation compared to something like a heart bypass it ridiculous how long its taking.

This week things took a turn for the worse and my leg actually gave way from under me and the pain was unbelievable, It was so bad I decided to attend the Kidderminster MIU (Minor injuries unit) to see if they could give me something for the pain and also to update their system so that the surgeon that I was referred too actually carry out my op could be updated so that they could re asses my situation and hopefully sort out an operation asap, especially as my condition had worsened greatly but considering that this was the SAME hospital that i will actually be having my op and also the SAME hospital that my surgeon is based I was informed by the reception that they could not do anything!! Don't departments talk to each other these days ? seems not, for which i find ridiculous
