"Completely unorganised"

About: Maywood Health Care Centre

I moved into this area 2 years ago and have only needed to use this surgery in the past year.

I am appalled at how badly run this practice is.

I have had occasion to speak with the practice manager to be told by her that she was not sure on a certain procedure and would get back to me.

That was over a year ago and am still waiting.

Receptionists are badly trained and informed of what procedures are.

Have constantly been seen by locum's or part time doctors who use a room where they can find nothing and spend half the allotted appointed time searching for general information.

On the occasions that I have had to see a nurse, equipment is broken or missing thereby taking up valuable time. At one time I was told by the person in front of me that the booking- in system was not working, so got into the queue to book in by reception.

After 10 mins wait just to book in, I was eventually told by a nurse that I had turned up 10mins late for my appointment.

I was livid as I had arrived in plenty of time..

After words with the receptionist and nurse I was told that if you are late the booking in service doesn't work, so the person in front was obviously late and I didn't realise this was the procedure in place, just a notice above the machine would have prevented me and I am sure many others of this fact.

Sorry to hear of your unhappiness with the service and organisation at Maywood Surgery, but all feedback is useful for us to help improve and grow.

We'd like to encourage you to come in a discuss with the PM your concerns - it would be useful to know when you came in, which room were you seen in etc.

We rarely use locums, we do have part-time GP's but they generally have access to their own room.

We also have the rooms stocked with equipment OR the higher cost items are in a central place so it should be quick and easy for GP's and Nurses to find - clearly that wasn't your experience and we'd like to explore that a bit further with you.

Regarding the procedure you needed advice on, again perhaps if you could call in and discuss this with the Practice Manager - we could understand this issue.

Regarding the sign in screen - when it's out of order (which is rare) we put a sign on it and have extra resources at reception to help with queues - a further discussion would be useful.
