"Awful experience"

About: Leighton Hospital / Accident and emergency

Went to A and E Sunday night, in extreme pain and struggling to breathe

I nearly collapsed on the reception desk and she said I looked do poorly she would put me straight through

Unfortunately, straight through means I got to sit alone on a plastic chair for a 10 hour wait to see a doctor

There were loads of staff talking around a desk on the night shift and not one was capable of actually giving any medical care at all as they are basically all receptionists

I was shaking in pain and managed to walk up and ask could I have some pain relief

I was finally given a tablet after 3 hours

10 hours later a doctor was finally free to see me and that was 2 hours into the day staff arriving

I finally got treated and discover I had an infection on my lungs

I was exhausted from sitting on the chair all night

I was offered 1 drink the whole time I was there

0 care from the night staff

Loads of people waiting all saying the same thing, the ambulance got them there in 10 mins but you get over 10 hours to be seen

Understaffed with actual doctor's, and overstaffed with uncaring pen pushers

Awful experienced I wouldn't wish on anyone
