"Having my life saved by paramedics sufferinf from a heart attack"

About: North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust

(as the patient),

One Sunday in May 2011, I suffered a heart attack. My neighbour dialed 999, and a single paramedic arrived in no time at all to look at me and get me ready to be taken away in an ambulance. It arrived very quickly and two more paramedics put me in the ambulance and started work on me. Within no time at all they told me I was having a heart attack, and told me they were taking me to Wythenshaw Hospital from my home. I thought it was quite a distance but we were there in no time at all.

From leaving home I was treated with the utmost care and compassion, the paramedics were all fantastic taking care to inform me of exactly what they were doing and why. They delivered me into the care of the staff at the hospital and wished me good luck before they left. Getting me to hospital so quickly decreased the amount of damage that occured to my heart, which helps with my recovery.

I did not get a chance to thank the paramedics for what they did for me giving me a second chance at life. They all deserve a medal for what they do, it could not have been done any better i wish i new there names so i could thank them in person.
