I had been unwell 3 weeks prior to calling for an appointment today, I'd had a rather persistent cough and wanted to have it checked out. Upon calling the surgery, I was met with one of the reception staff, who was rather rude when answering the phone, huffing and sighing once she had picked up.
As I wanted to get an appointment time sooner rather than later, I asked if there was anything today with my preferred GP, after I had finished work. And was told "No, you should have called last week" so I asked if there was anything this week with any of the doctors and again, was told "No, we're fully booked, we only have one appointment on Friday." As I was about to confirm this time, and thank her for letting me know, she put the phone down on me and didn't even confirm if my name had been put down for this particular timing...
I am extremely disgusted with this as it isn't the first time I have been treated this way by certain members of reception at this surgery. Many a time have I sat waiting for my appointment (when I eventually had one at a suitable time) hearing the reception staff discussing the ailments and issues many patients have come in with. I find this highly disrespectful and unprofessional, as they are constantly allowed to get away with this. I believe something should be done about the customer service here, as I think they poorly reflect the NHS.
