"A nasty splinter!"

About: Wycombe Hospital

(as the patient),

Last Monday, Easter Monday, I realised that the splinter I had in my thumb had become infected......it looked strange and hurt.

I felt a bit embarrassed taking up the time of the NHS over something so minor but the staff at the Minor Injuries Unit treated me with care and concern.

In fact the nurse I saw....and I wish I could remember her name....was just brilliant. I had already seen the Practice Nurse at my GPs surgery and attempts to remove the splinter had failed. There was no way that the Minor Injuries nurse was going to fail....she managed to clean the area, finding the infection and treating it all appropriately. With a lot of humour too.

Thank you so much, a fantastic service.

Dear patient

Thank you for your lovely words and for taking the time to share your experience when you attended the Minor Injuries Unit at Wycombe Hospital.

It is so lovely to hear of how our nurse managed to remove the splinter, clean the area and treat the infection. It is also very reassuring to know that you felt well looked after and you received a fantastic service.

I will pass your lovely compliment to the staff at the Minor Injuries Unit who I am sure will be encouraged by your praise.

Kind regards
