Initial assessment as a drop in I was turned away. It took a long time to see the Dr.  Left on too lower dose which potentially could be cause to self-medicate.  I think that timescales with addicts need to be quicker.  Government guidelines are impeding my ability to maintain my education. Daily pick-ups are impacting on me.  I’m ill every morning and have to take a taxi to chemist because my prescription was too low for several weeks.

Hi

I'm really sorry to hear you have had a tough start into treatment. Your first point, being turned away. I don't know your case but some reasons you may be turned away might have been being too intoxicated to take part in the assessment. Of course we accept some level of intoxicity but you will need to be able to answer all questions accurately etc Also we have set times for drop in assessments and if you came outside of these then it is likely that you would have been given a different time to come back. we really don't want to put barriers in the way. We want people to get into treatment asap.

The second point you make about medication, prescription collection etc is all completed in line with various clinical guidance. This is designed to keep people safe and when stable in treatment these can be discussed with the Doctor and your keyworker.
