"First class service"

About: Diana, Princess Of Wales Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

We needed to see a doctor in the outpatients department about my mothers failing eyesight which had become worse in the past few weeks. We were given a cancellation appointment for three days later which was very fortunate. The booking clerks always try their best to accommodate our usual appointments.

On this particular day we also had to take Mother for an appointment in Leeds at 12.30 pm so the booking clerk recommended we spoke to the nursing staff as soon as we arrived so that we could be seen as soon as possible as our appointment was 10am. We would never ask for this normally and are always prepared to wait our turn. However we are pleased to report that waiting times are improving. We did do this and received a sympathetic answer, in that staff would do their best to facilitate a short waiting period. We were called in fairly soon after our arrival and were seen by the doctor, the nurses, the optomologist in quick succession. We were able to meet our appointment in Leeds which was a great relief.

We would like to thank all the staff for facilitating not only this visit but the other many visits that my mother and I have had to make over the past 5 years to the Hospital.

It really is a first class service given by the staff who always do their best against difficult circumstances.
