"Manchester home treatment team"

About: Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

I was admitted to home treatment team in Manchester (central I think) in December 2017 following an overdose that put me in hospital. It wasn’t nearly enough for me to kill myself I didn’t know that at the time but I lost my job and after my family found out about my OD. Things started getting worse after that. I saw 2 women and they assessed me. They were lovely. They made me feel cared for after going through such a horrid time without my family present. They assessed me and put me forward for home treatment in Manchester so I got a nurse. I’m not sure if I can say names but this woman was fantastic from day 1. I felt listened to, she made me laugh and also talked about herself which helped a lot too. She tried her best to help out with other services such as children services but didn’t get much luck with that. And I think because I was so young (17 when I got them first) it shocked quite a lot of people. I deteriorated half way through treatment but they was straight on it. No messing around. Whenever my nurse went on leave she made sure I knew what was going on and with who was coming to see me. I didn’t want male staff to visit me and they completely understood and I never had a male staff member come. Only to drop off my prescription which I didn’t mind. They were amazing to me. All the ladies there were amazing. I want to say their names so badly so they get the recognition but unsure if I can. But anyway they were amazing I can’t fault them at all. They are based in the Rawnsley building in the MRI in Manchester. And I couldn’t be happier with my treatment. Now thanks to them I’m not self harming, I’m stable the first time in a LONG LONG time. And to be honest it’s quite a shock. Tomorrow will be the day I get discharged from this team and I’m quite upset as I will miss them. But I’m proud of how far I’ve come and I honestly believe I don’t think I would of recovered if it wasn’t for this team. They did literally save my life. And for that I thank them all.
