I recently gave birth at Whipps during the third week of February. I must emphasise how amazing the midwives were. She was my second baby and I dilated faster than I expected and there was no time for pain relief, and gas and air had no effect. I struggled immensely with the pain and then my daughter became distressed after an hour and a half with the cord around her neck. Four midwives came into help and all of them were truly amazing. I don’t think I would’ve got through it without them, two midwives, and two other ladies, one who was finishing her training that day and my daughter was her last delivery before she qualified. They helped with my breathing and coached me through the pain so that I delivered my baby safely. My mum also fainted in the delivery room and they were very quick to help her while I was pushing. Post delivery, one midwife was lovely and bought me breakfast and a cup of tea after stitching me. I cannot fault the care I received. They were just all so amazing and I cannot thank them enough.
