"Contacting District Nurse service"

About: Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

(as a service user),

Following a minor surgical procedure I was told to strange an appointment to have stitches removed.

I phoned the number given to arrange an appointment with a District Nurse. As I live in Glossop I assumed that this would be at the Glossop Clinic.

On phoning the booking service, the person I spoke to seemed unfamiliar with the system and took many minutes.

She arranged an appointment at the Ashton clinic, saying there was no service at Glossop.

This is , apparently, not the case and on any day , other than Monday, an appointment at George Street, Glossop would be available.

Dear enquirer

I am sorry to hear of your experience when trying to arrange an appointment with your local District Nursing Team.

As an organisation, Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust does not provide District Nursing Team in your area. The only service we provide in Glossop is Community Dental.

I wish you a speedy recovery and hope that you now have the appointment you require.

Kind regards

Andrea Brown

I needed a response from Glossop and Tameside Healthcare Trust

I do not understand why the wrong trust would receive my comments and why an inappropriate reply would be considered to address my query

Dear Towercrest,

I am one of the senior moderators at Care Opinion and we have had a look at your posting. We must apologise that your posting was tagged wrongly. This happens only very rarely but sometimes where services have similar names its difficult to get it right every time.

I have now tagged your story to Tameside and Glossop and sent the Trust alerts for your posting so they can see and hopefully respond.

Best wishes and thank you for sending in your feedback.
