I recently received urgent coronary care from Warwick Hospital following a visit to my GP. My GP felt that my heart rate was too low and referred me to hospital immediately. From the start when I walked into A&E reception with the letter from my GP the staff treated me with the utmost respect and professionalism. Following a brief stay in A&E 'resus' Where Ii was looked after by a great team
I was transferred to the Coronary Care Unit where the staff reassured me and monitored my condition through that night. I saw the consultant later the next morning who confirmed that the electrical system that controls my heartbeat was compromised and that i would need a pacemaker. By the late afternoon I was having a pacemaker fitted.Throughout the operation I was cared for by a very attentive team who did everything possible to get me through the procedure. I was welcomed back to the ward by the staff who presented me with some very welcome food and took the trouble to find my family who were waiting elsewhere in the hospital. Following a good nights rest I was amazingly allowed home the next day.
I feel that i have received the very best medical care that i could have, all the staff went out of their way to reassure me and make me comfortable. Thank-you to all the staff at Warwick Hospital and to my GP for acting so quickly and succinctly.
