My family and I were recently transferred to this surgery after the closure of Windmill Hill, earlier in the year.
Some weeks ago, I received a letter confirming an appointment with them that I hadn't actually made. It was for my little boy, who is eighteen months old, to have his MMR vaccination, amongst other jabs.
I called the surgery to find out why I had received this letter, given that I hadn't requested an appointment and that, more crucially, my little boy had already had his inoculations, at our previous GP surgery, six months beforehand.
The person I spoke to didn't have a clue what I was talking about, and maintained that the letter wasn't from them, despite the fact it had the practice's letterhead, contact details etc on it.
They said they would look into the matter and call me back. Surprise, surprise, I am still awaiting that phone call, several weeks on.
To compound matters, despite the surgery apparently having no knowledge of the appointment letter they sent, I have been continually besieged by text messages, again from the surgery, reminding me that the appointment is due to take place. Obviously, I didn't attend, having already called up to enquire as to the letter's purpose, and received nothing by way of an explanation.
If, say, I wasn't on the ball in relation to when my little boy was due what, then I could quite easily have taken him down to the surgery, for that appointment, and who knows what might have transpired. Are they sufficiently incompetent to try to administer another dose of vaccinations that he has already had. It would not surprise me. Let alone the waste of time this would have proven to be.
To say I am less than impressed by this chaos is an understatement. No way am I entrusting my little boy's health to this surgery after this display of incompetence. I have since registered him at another practice. It felt the safest thing to do.
