Once again I feel I need to complain about how difficult and almost obstructive the Nottingham sexual health services are
I took advice re a possible drop in clinic as my teenage daughter was running out if her contraceptive pill
We were advised that stapleford did a drop in contraceptive clinic between 330 and 430 in thursdays
We arrived at 350 ( 22nd March )to be told it was unlikely to be seen as there was a staggering 3 ! Before us by a rather rude receptionist
We filled in the form in the slim possibility we would be seen and at 4pm we were told we wouldn’t be seen. We were turned away!!!!!!
To say we were angry is an understatement I could understand if we had turned up at 425 for a coil or implant but to be turned away at 4pm for just more pills is unacceptable
In 2018 this is not a 3rd world clinic but a city centre service service hopefully with such easy access and no barriers to getting contraceptives for a teenager. The receptionist and nurse runnnig the clinic perhaps needs some more training as to what the objective of the service is about.
Hopefully prevention of unwanted teenage pregnancies .. or maybe not.
They may have just wanted to go home early?....
