I rang the minor injury for advise about a friend that had had surgery on Monday at Darenth hospital on Monday 19-03-18.. On discharge she was advised to contact her GP surgery for the dressing to changed on Wednesday 21-03-18. On contacting her GP service
I was told if it was not an emergency she would have to ring on the morning of 21-03-18 to see if there had been a cancelation. This not being adequate answers I my self phoned to minor injuries unit at Gravesend hospital, explained the situation and was told I was welcome to bring my friend along and she would be seen there. This gave my a peace of mind and reassured her. We arrived at the unit at approx. 1pm on Wednesday and was greeted at the reception by a big smile from the receptionist and booked in very quickly. Although we did have to wait for 1 hour (there were energy ambulances arriving) the was not unexpected. We were later called into the treatment area by the sister on duty and death with the utmost respect and care and all the information my friend was given for her to care for her wound until her later date at her own GP.
We both found in the circumstance's a very pleasant and professional experience. I will in no doubt in the unfortunate event of a minor injury taking myself or any of my family or friends to the Gravesend minor injuries. Thank you to all the team that to a great job and work very hard on our behalf.
Thanks from Veroinca
