After a small wait I was lucky to be offered a cancellation for my knee arthroscopy. I had to be at the Theatre Admissions Lounge by 7:15 and no sooner as we sat down, I was taken through. I was really impressed with the individual rooms (with your own TV!) with their comfortable recliner chairs. Between 7:15 & 8:30 when I went to theatre, the ward was awash with nurses, doctors, anaesthetists etc and I felt really well looked after. Facts were checked, double and triple checked - and I loved the arrow on my left leg to make doubly sure!!!
Not only the anaestist came to see me but also the lady who was working with him so I knew who she was. Everything was fully explained and when everything had been completed I had a lovely nurse sitting with my whilst I came round and to ensure everything was ok. The surgeon came to see me in recovery and because I was still sleepy I didn’t remember a lot but other nurses updated me. When I was taken back to my room on THAL, the nurse bought me some lunch (of my choice) and let me use the phone to contact my partner. I couldn’t fault the care I had last Friday from everyone - a big thank you to you all!
