"Unable to see a doctor in Bradford"

About: Bradford and Airedale Teaching PCT

(as a relative),

My cousin has been trying to get an appointment at Dr Longfields practice, Woodroyd Centre, Bradford for many days now as he has too many problems to mention.

Each day we are faced with a really long wait on the phone at 8am till 8.45am and by the time we are through all the appointments have gone.

I am then told to phone every hour to check for any cancellations and when I do there aren't any. I am then advised to ask him to see the Nurse practitioner and when he does, she says he definitely needs to see the Dr.

I am then reduced to saying what I shall I do with him as he is deteriorating and the receptionist tells me to take him to the walk in centre where he can see a nurse practitioner.

We are bound to face the same problem there, as he needs a Dr not a nurse practitioner. I then tell the surgery I am taking him to A & E and they tell me I shouldn't, as it is for accidents and chest pains not for mental health reasons.

I am really tired by this time and phone the surgery and ask for the complaints form and the chap tells me I need to come down and collect it. I ask for it to be emailed to me but he said he can't.

I can't believe this happened to me and my cousin - well, he's just out of it.
