"My horror experiences"

About: Walm Lane Surgery

I have dreadful experiences to share about this practice. Starting with the most recent which was this month.

Saw the same doctor 3 times about this problem which I will share. I have been bleeding for 4 months progressively getting worse; the past 3 weeks passing golf ball sized clots every morning in this never ending period. First was told to have a blood test and when I plucked up the courage to say I have also been feeling very down (even before the bleeding) the doctor disregarded what I had tried to open up about and told me to just wait for the blood results. If they had questioned like any doctor should they would have found out that actually I have been thinking every day about taking my own life for the past 6 months. On the advice from a private Chinese TCM clinic, I went to Walm lane GP again to ask for a pelvic ultrasound appointment. Despite what is happening they would not book me for a scan until I was checked below first, for which I must not be bleeding! They had offered tablets to stop it which I cannot take due to liver damage from past hepatitis so it's catch 22. They said they would not give me a booking as my situation is not considered urgent, yet they do not know what it is like to bleed heavily everyday for over 120 days. Yet my friend at a practice in West Hampstead was given an ultrasound booking just 3 weeks ago for a painful period without needing to be checked below.

2nd horror. I fell gravely ill last year; had to be lifted by my partner into the gp to see the head doctor, I couldn't walk or stand or barely talk and in great pain. The doctor needed a urine sample so gave me water to drink, they couldn't find the cups as they were using another doctor's office so didn't know where things were. So they picked up a single cup which was left on the side and gave that to me. We asked "is that clean?" The doctor hesitated, then said yes. I drank from it, only to notice there were food bits on the other side of the cup with a lip mark. After I drank from it they put it back on the worktop! Not in the bin! After weeks in hospital and a liver swollen to 3 times the size, the diagnosis was found; hepatitis. All I could think of was the head doctor at the gp, who not only gave me a used cup but put it back on table. For someone else to use once they return back to their office? Or to give to another patient? Absolutely disgusting. They could have easily passed my hepatitis to somebody else. Or passed something else onto me when I drank from it.

The third I am unable to disclose as it is against the rules. However I can say that the doctors at this surgery had me on strong steroids and antihistamines everyday for 5 years and told me I would be on them for the rest of my life for chronic rhinitis. I had enough and visited a private doctor in kensal rise, to which a treatment was given and advice to stop the use of all drugs from the GP. I no longer have the condition. I feel the doctors at Walm Lane have no care for cures.
