"Staff were ineffecient"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Gynaecology

Had the worst hospital experience in gynae ward. Staff were inefficient except few. Care wasn’t as expected. If you asked for something no one would return to you with answers! Staff just didn’t want to come near to you. Not a single staff asked how I was. Even the students were the same. I guess they were just following their mentors.

Had to mention that I was a Nurse myself and that I would never treat my patient the way they were treating me & their approach was totally different towards me afterwards, they started to be nice & friendly. It shouldn’t be like that!! I shouldn’t have to tell them that I was a nurse to get some care & answers!! Everyone should be treated with same care & respect regardless of the profession!! I understand how busy a ward can be at times but that doesn’t mean you just leave your patient to their own unless they ring the bell!! And even when you ring the bell, they would answer it and promise they would come back to you but never did for hours & hours and you would end up waiting for someone to come back as I didn’t like to ring again & again!! Even after waiting for hours, I didn’t see anyone untill I rung the bell again. On the day of discharge, no one gave me an answer whether i would be going home or not and everytime I asked staff they would say they’re waiting for the doctor to come and i never got the answer until the night staff came on shift and i had to tell them to bleep the doctor & get yes or no since i had a newborn at home and they bleeped the doctor straightaway and was discharged home at night.
