I am writing to say how pleased I was by treatment at DRI when my GP recently sent me to
A & E to check for a possible retinal detachment.
On hearing my symptoms, the staff in A & E were soon able to reassure me that it was likely to be vitreous rather than retinal detachment. I was given an appointment for the following morning with an eye specialist - I was impressed that I would be seen so promptly & relieved at the reassurance in A & E.
At the next day's appointment, I was seen very punctually, first by the Ophthalmology nurse - who was very helpful and approachable - and then by the ophthalmologist who conducted an extremely thorough examination of both eyes.
He spent time checking everything and then explained carefully what the problem involved and what to expect re its progress.
I was very impressed at the fact that I was seen so quickly and at the quality of the examination.
"Excellent treatment in Ophthalmology dept"
