"A&e"

About: New Cross Hospital / Accident and emergency

I was advised by my GP to go to A&E with chest pain as I have a history of unstable angina.

The reception area was quite busy and the receptionists too, but after on,y a short time I was seen by a nurse who assessed my problem arranged an ecg / blood test quickly. The nurse who gave me the ecg was very caring as with another who did my initial blood test. I was moved to the CDU to await results, being seen by a doctor who kept me informed.

It is difficult to see how such caring staff can cope with such a large amount of patients and still be so helpful . On CDU the male nurse doing so many different duties,as well as looking to the welfare of patients.

It’s about time the powers that be woke up to reality.

My thanks for the treatment I have received .
