The waste/duplication/inefficiency I want to tell you about is:

Prolonged hospital stays - Maybe home care services would be more appropriate (if only care was need). I know about this because of a family experience.

I support the organisation in making sure that the voice of patients and the public is heard and used in planning services. This involves running events, managing surveys, and building networks with the local community.

This comment was posted from our Stakeholder event in June. We are asking for help in identifying waste and inefficiencies within health services, as we want to make provide the best value we can for public money.

A full report of the event has been sent to attendees and NHS Rotherham Board. Details of specific actions and issues have also been passed to commissioning staff for action.

Specific Issues Raised Above

NHS Rotherham is also concerned that sometimes people stay in hospital longer than they need to, because the right care is not in place in the community. This is something that we are looking at alongside our partners in the local authority.
