"No communication since condition has worsened."

About: Basildon University Hospital / Urology

Visited urology in Feb 18 was happy with the consultant and recived good service.

I was advised that I would require day surgery in the next few weeks but if my condition got worse then I should contact his secretery and he would get back to me.

I have been leaving messages on his secretaries answer phone for the last 5 weeks with no reply, any time I get hold of anyone else they transfer me immediately to his secretary's answer phone while im still trying to explain Im not getting a reply. I have returned to my GP but they have said I need to see the consultant and then they have left a message on the answer machine with no reply.

Im leaving this review because I have tried again and got no responce I have also tried the patient liaison survices and been meet with another answer machine.

For 5 weeks my condition has become unmanagable and I have recived zero help or advice.

We are sorry that you have been unable to make contact with your consultant's secretary and that you have also tried the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS).

If you are still having difficulty, we would encourage you to try PALS again on 01268 524900 Ext 4440 or email pals@btuh.nhs.uk.

If you leave a message on the PALS answerphone, it will be picked up as soon as possible (within 24hrs on weekdays).
