"Appointment times"

I have been waiting for an emergency referral to the breast cancer clinic and have been told after a week of waiting and expecting a call they cannot see me within the two week time scale they are expected to adhere to. I have received no phone call to tell me there is a backlog and an issue and I have had to chase it up via my GP. This is simply not good enough and putting me under a huge amount of stress as I am the sole carer for two adults and need an answer. It looks like I am going to have to travel to another hospital just to be seen, causing more delays. Surely life changing diagnosis should not be delayed.
