After 14 years with this practice i have just moved, in the end i got fed up with the same issues re-occurring. I'm a very occasional visiter and only for a cholesterol tablet. The problem starts with having to self manage the time scale of when to get a blood test because they never remind me in anyway or think to be proactive, next issue is then getting a booked blood test which has an average time scale of three wks and rarely fits in with been a shift worker because i only ever know what i'm working a wk at a time. The easiest way to over come that is to collect the form and go preston hosiptal and take a ticket for a wasted morning or afternoon. When the results come back it's then usual for the doc (never the same one)to want to talk to me, this is always a telephone call which they can't confirm will be at a set time on the day and then it's only a case of confirming you can continue on as before so really a waste of time, no other checks i.e blood pressure etc have been offered or suggested now for around three to four yrs. There are other people i have spoken to who are equally dissappointed but just have'nt to move as yet but the overall impression is that over the yrs it's got just to many patients to properly look after them all for the ratio of doctors and nurses. If you are moving to the area i'd speak to some local people before deciding to join this doc's because there are better alternatives.
"If moving to the area you'd be better with..."
