I spent 2.5 hours at the Ophthalmology department at Ayr Hospital after being sent there by a different service. In the 2.5 hours I was there every other patient came and went while I had yet to be seen. I was asked some initial questions by a student nurse which consisted of:
Any allergies and on my response asked me to spell it, and medical history, any family history and any medication? I feel these were a little generic.
While waiting to be seen by a doctor I witnessed the staff call my doctor out on mixing up patient names and DOBs. When I eventually got seen after asking why I had been waiting so long, the doctor took 2 phone calls in my presence. Also a nurse came in to correct the doctor on a mistake with the previous patient. In the end after asking me the same question 4 times the doctor sent me away and told me to do just as the other service told me to the night before.
I have now lost an entire days work and I have no more answers than before this appt.
Very disappointed indeed and very little confidence in this doctor.
"Disappointed in doctor's attitude"
