My husband suffered a major stroke in March 2011.
Due to a mix up as to which hospital was on call that weekend for the stroke unit, he unfortunately got eventually to the Kent and Sussex hospital from Teynham too late to have the vital treatment he needed. The vital treatment was needed within 3 hours and it was over this time limit due to the mix up over hospitals.
We went on a journey around Kent, first to Medway then on to Kent and Sussex hospital in Tonbridge. This could all have been avoided if he had got to the right hospital within the 3 hour timeline.
