"Dreadful"

My partner rang for an appointment at 8am yesterday with increased breathing problems (known COPD) he was told no appointment until 27/2. Ended up blue lighted to Lincoln last night with an infective exasperation of COPD. Dr there appalled at his treatment as he has had no respiratory review or referral, sees a different dr every time he goes with a different opinion who always change his medication, no result from second spirometry test and is on the wrong medication. He was phoned by reception and told he needed a second spirometry test but when he arrived the nurse had no idea why he was there and wast thus totally unprepared for his appointment. He never received any information about preparation for his spirometry despite being told this would be sent. His height and weight had been guessed by someone at a initial screening appointment he never had. They had listed him as 5 foot 2 he is actually 6 foot 1, his weight had also been guessed as he had never been weighed at the surgery. A doctor told him he was aneamic yet they have never taken any bloods from him! The doctor did not clarify how they came to this and fortunately did not offer any treatment! He had also yesterday requested the correct medication as was given the wrong one on his last repeat but was told he would have to walk to the dispensary to sort it out; he can't breath let alone walk it takes him an hour on a good day! He did get there only to be told they could not give him the medication! Two weeks after an x Ray he was told they had not received the results, rang Grantham who re-sent the results. I called the surgery on his behalf to be told by the receptionist they were fine and the x Ray was clear, He was then informed when he finally got an appointment he had a collapsed lung! All in all the care he has received has, at best been poor. I am heavily encouraging him to change surgeries as a qualified nurse I have a little knowledge and am appalled by this surgery. So glad I don't use Drs and have not been registered with one for years!
