"Excellent, compassionate care"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Accident and emergency

I attended A and E following a nasty fall from a horse on Sunday 11/3/18. I had originally gone to urgent care centre, and subsequently arrived immobilised via ambulance.

I was quickly seen by a nurse who put me at ease, and very quickly a doctor assessed me and advised scans.

The gentleman who collected me to take me to scan was friendly and compassionate and helped take me through the painful movements I had to make.

I was informed after my scan there was nothing serious and I would be able to move.

I will admit I felt I was a fraud being taken in by ambulance after I had been walking, and all the staff were quick to reassure me that this was not the case.

I would like to thank everyone who looked after me last night.

I was seen, assessed and sent home in about 3 hours.

Thank you very much for these kind words, I’ve shared them with the team in the Emergency Department.

We are all very glad to hear that your injury was not serious and we hope you will make a full and swift recovery from your fall.

Best wishes

Jane Newton
